If we were to cover everything you need to make your social media top notch, we would be here for awhile. Instead, I am going to share 3 quick tips that can take your business social media to the next level.
It is very rare to see a social post without an image. It is easy to catch a users attention with a picture, but there are specifics that can really grab attention. Images should be clear, in focus, and have good lighting. It isn’t difficult to obtain these 3 factors for a great photo. Slow down and take your time behind the camera. If the picture is still not 100%, filters can always add the effect needed to make a picture work. Filtered photos are 21% more likely to be viewed and 45% more likely to be commented on than unfiltered ones. When it comes to pictures, use the correct image size. There are different sizes for profile pictures, posts, events, cover photos, etc. On all of the social platforms – not one is the same.
2. Complete Your Profile
There are no required fields when filling out your social media profiles, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t important. LinkedIn is extremely helpful when setting up a profile it tells you how strong the profile is the more information you add. I keep the profile picture the same across the social platforms so users recognize the brand and know it is the business page. Using the company logo as your profile picture adds to the brand awareness. I keep the social handles extremely similar – there is nothing more frustrating than trying to guess someone’s handle. And keep that basic information updated – the more people know about your company the better!
3. Cross Promote
Cross promoting is publishing similar messages on all platforms and tailoring the content to the specific media. Things that go into customizing the message are caption length, image formatting, and vocabulary. Instead of using the same message, I like to make small tweaks that followers will notice and still engage with. Using a scheduling tool can also help promote unique posts on different platforms. I use Hootsuite to schedule posts for multiple platforms. This tool keeps posts organized and lets you quickly tweak the copy. My favorite part about Hootsuite is the ease of use and the ability to tag other accounts while scheduling.
Try these 3 tips on your social platforms if you haven’t already. They can make a world of difference. Pictures, they grab attention, and get noticed, make them interesting. Complete those profiles! People want to know about your business. So tell them. Cross promote to grow that larger following – these are all easy but key factors!
