Last week thousands of companies and throngs of people descended on Las Vegas for the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show. This annual tech convention is a highlight for (ahem) nerds like me that are desperate to see, touch and test the latest gadgets and software. In fact, attending the show last year was a thrill. Getting to spend several hours on the showroom floor talking to developers and playing with the latest and greatest devices.
However, there was one thought that I had upon leaving the show last year, and it seems appropriate to share that thought with you here. ‘That was great but I don’t even utilize everything I already have…what I am supposed to do with all this new stuff?’ Several of the things I had just been exposed to were extremely costly, and some weren’t even ready for market. So how could I use the technology I already have to follow the trends that I just saw?
The biggest way is still with content. It’s been proven time and time again – content is king! The better your content, the more engagement you will have with your customer – regardless of who that customer is. There are a lot of trends that you (or someone you work with) should stay on top of. Things like personalization of the web, wearable technology, and more, but the content is still the driving force.
So how is your content? Is it kept up to date? Is it engaging? Is it getting you found by new customers (i.e. hitting search engine optimization), converting leads to sales? Do you even know to answer these questions? If not, it may be time to talk to a professional. Working with a firm that can thoroughly assess your business and suggest changes can yield big results.
One of the things that we find so rewarding is sitting down with a customer and talking about their business. We help them figure out how to effectively communicate what they do to their target audience. Watching their campaign’s success along with them and celebrating the results is what keeps us coming back time and time again.
If you’d like to make your 2016 the best year yet for your business and you aren’t sure where to start, I encourage you to reach out. Connect with someone who can help you navigate your content and help you capitalize using your existing technology. .
